Mangum Medical's first ever page in the Medical Illustration Sourcebook has been completed! It won't be published until next summer, but as you can see the website is already being re-designed to match the page.

Here's the latest render of the current 3D project I am working on, I thought it'd be nice to show the progress that's been made on it since the previous post it was featured in.

Animation featured in The Journal of Biocommunication!

My 2009 animation The Vestibular System: Endolymph Motion has been featured in Issue 1, Vol. 36 of The Journal of Biocommunication an online publication.

A quick preview of the animation can be viewed in the article, this is the 2nd time it has been featured in the JBC, and it also received the Award of Merit at the 2009 AMI Salon in Richmond, VA.

This is far from done, but I've started working on a new 3D animation, and thought I'd put an in-progress image up on the blog. The final should be short, and hopefully will be a good addition to my new demo-reel.

Medical Illustration T-Shirts!

Recently 3 of my medical illustrations were turned into t-shirt designs for Twice Studios. This was my first venture into screenprint design, so they were a bit of an experiment. In the future I'd like to re-do the lungs in a print that would have a bit more contrast. The shirts were a limited-edition, so if you're interested in one head over to www.twicestudios.com to see if they are still in stock!

This is the first blog entry for the NEW mangummedical.com! I am re-working the site to make it more personal and user-friendly. That will include periodic blog posts that may or may not have sketches or work-in-progress images you wouldn't find elsewhere. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back for future posts!
